Jayna Hefford Hockey School
Dupuis & Hefford Hockey School (Kingston)
Jayna Hefford partnered with former national team member and Olympian, Lori Dupuis, to start one of the first female hockey schools in eastern Ontario. The camp runs in Kingston, and was established the summer of 1998, following the first Olympics to include women’s hockey. The camp is geared towards young female hockey players from age 6-16. Each year is comprised of a new group of talented instructors who have played and/or coached at the university, professional and international level. The camp takes pride in helping the young players to develop both on-ice and off-ice skills, while maintaining a fun and challenging environment. Through Jayna and Lori’s international hockey experiences, they believe hockey helps develop characteristics of teamwork, leadership, discipline and confidence. The camp includes on-ice sessions that include powerskating, skill development and tactical skills, as well as off-ice sessions that include co-operative games, conditioning, sport-specific training and competitive games. The 2014 camp will be held July 21-25th at the Invista Centre in Kingston, Ontario.
